Rebirth from the Flames

Rebirth from the Flames is a local short about the fire that shut down the beloved Gain Wah Restaurant and the community initiative to bring it back.

Dead Pigs

Dead Pigs is our full length feature film this evening. It’s a dark fictional comedy that was presented at VIFF about the gentrification of Shanghai and how one matriarch is defying all odds to protect her home.

Chinese Unicorn Eye-dotting Ceremony

Plus, a surprise! Our friends from Kirin Rising will be doing a special traditional eye-dotting ceremony and performance of their new red Hakka Chinese unicorn to awaken the kirin spirit and bless Chinatown with good fortune.
