Tea & Paint Dim Sum Night + In the Mood for Love for Chinatown + Photos from Chess Night
Upcoming events to occupy 105 Keefer
Come enjoy some tea and painting with us on August 12th at the Chinatown Memorial Plaza between 6PM-8PM. Everyone is welcome and painting instructions will be provided by @Lucky.Munyi! This Tea and Painting session will be watercolour dim sum.
Tea & Paint is an opportunity for community to come together. It is now more crucial than ever that we support our DTES and Chinatown community and seniors. With the City of Vancouver's approval of Beedie's luxury condo development at 105 Keefer and the silencing of the voices of our seniors, it is important we support grassroots efforts, amplify the voices of our community members directly, and stand together in solidarity against gentrification. Read @Lucky.Munyi’s reasons for protesting for Chinatown.
Tea and supplies will be provided while you paint your own dim sum artwork to take home. There will be snacks sponsored by Subo Bakes, live entertainment, dim sum photo booth, traditional Chinese tea demonstration, a walking tour by the designer of the Chinatown Memorial Plaza, and other fun surprise activities. The event is all ages and a great opportunity to bond as a community!
Things to bring:
Your own chair: Some seating will be provided, but will be prioritized for seniors
Art supplies: If you have your own art supplies, please bring them as provided supplies are limited.
Water to stay hydrated
