Last Tai Chi of the season with Mrs Ma, so don't miss it + 2 film nights!
Plus calligraphy and sticky buns movie nights
If you missed doing tai chi with Mrs. Ma earlier this month, you have one more chance this Saturday to learn with her at Tai Chi with Yarrow at 2pm at 268 Keefer St 2nd floor in Chinatown. Don’t miss it!
(Psst…Yarrow is looking for phone bankers to help with raising funds to continue their important work to service elders in Chinatown. Here’s how you can help. You can also donate directly here or buy cute merch here to support.)
In the neighbourhood earlier on Saturday? Drop by our Ink & Unity event at 11:30am in the Chinatown Plaza Mall where you’ll get to experience Chinese calligraphy, traditional music and tea ceremony! Although the workshop with the calligraphy master is now full, there will be a free paint area where you can still practice calligraphy and enjoy the music, tea, and company. More info here.
And don’t forget, if you know someone who goes to UBC, let them know Big Fight in Little Chinatown is screening for free as part of UBC AMS’ CultureFest next Wednesday evening. There will also be sticky buns, tea, and a post-film discussion with Chinatown and UBC community members! RSVP here.
Already watched Big Fight in Little Chinatown and looking for something new? On Mar 30, our friends at UniCome Vancouver are hosting a screening of “Xiaodi” for Transgender Day of Visibility. It follows the journey of a trans girl in a China, a country of 4 million transgendered people who are actively and violently discriminated against. More here and tickets here.
