MP Jenny Kwan wrote an open letter to the Development Permit Board to urge them to refuse 105 Keefer again.
In addition to providing detailed reasons on how 105 Keefer contravenes the Chinatown zoning policies, she wrote:
“The design [of 105 Keefer] needs such significant work to meet the context of a culturally appropriate design that I do not believe it appropriate to grant a permit even with conditions…
…I continue to stand with the Chinatown community in the fight for the heart and soul of this community and therefore urge, for the reasons above, that you reject once again the proponent’s development permit application for 105 Keefer Street.”

She also sent an additional letter urging the Provincial and Federal housing ministers to work with the City to find creative solutions like a land swap or purchase:
