A playlist to listen to before Tea & Paint Dim Sum tomorrow (Sat, Aug 12) + Free community portraits on Chinese Valentine's Day
Two events and a playlist to push back against gentrification!
Here’s the playlist we’ll be dancing away the evening to tomorrow while we sip some piping hot tea and bite back at gentrification in Chinatown tomorrow (Sat, Aug 12) with Tea & Paint Dim Sum with @Lucky.Munyi at the Chinatown Memorial Plaza between 6PM-8PM.
Outside of dance tunes, there will be snacks sponsored by Subo Bakes, a Chinese a cappella performance, a dim sum photo booth, traditional Chinese tea demonstration, a walking tour by the designer of the Chinatown Memorial Plaza, and other fun games and activities.
The event is all ages and a great opportunity to bond as a community and continue to protest with our culture, voices and bodies against gentrification in Chinatown!
ASL, Cantonese, and Mandarin interpretation will be provided.
Things to bring:
Your own chair: Some seating will be provided, but will be prioritized for seniors
Art supplies: If you have your own watercolour art supplies, please bring them if you can as provided supplies are limited.
Water to stay hydrated
