Learn Qi Gong from a Chinatown elder
Restore health and wellness then break out in square dancing this Saturday
Learn qi gong 氣功 in Chinatown with a long-time Chinatown elder Swallow Zhou this upcoming Saturday, Apr 27 at the Chinatown Plaza Mall!
Swallow will be teaching us a specific form of qi gong called Baduanjin 八段錦, also known as the 8 Silk Brocades or the 8 Treasures Qi Gong. Originating from the Song Dynasty, the forms’ movements emulate a silken quality like in a brocade, aimed to promote health and wellness.
After some qi gong warmup, Swallow will teach us how to do the infamous Chinese Square Dance that will get us flexing and flowing together to music.
Let's unite, dance, and celebrate the joy of movement in our public spaces. We look forward to seeing you there!
WHEN: Saturday, April 27 2024, 1:00PM to 4:00PM
WHERE: Chinatown Plaza Mall - 106 Keefer Street
